Have you ever felt like you’re constantly struggling to reach your goals, no matter how hard you try? If so, you’re not alone. Many people find themselves stuck in a cycle of failing and feeling like they can never achieve their dreams. But the truth is, there are real reasons why you may be failing, and once you understand them, you can take action to turn things around.
Poor Planning:
One of the most common reasons for failure is poor planning. Many people dive into a project without first taking the time to think about what they need to do to succeed. This can lead to frustration, disappointment, and ultimately, failure. To avoid this, take the time to sit down and create a plan for your project. Break it down into smaller, achievable steps, and make sure you have a clear understanding of what you need to do to succeed.
Poor Thinking:
Another reason for failure is poor thinking. If you constantly focus on the negatives, you’ll find it hard to achieve your goals. To overcome this, try to focus on the positives and find ways to stay motivated. Surround yourself with positive, supportive people, and seek out positive information and experiences.
Poor Execution:
In many cases, people fail because they don’t execute their plans effectively. To avoid this, make sure you have the right tools and resources to execute your plan, and hold yourself accountable for making progress. Set realistic deadlines, and make sure you stay focused on your goals.
Poor Follow Through:
Finally, many people fail because they don’t follow through on their plans. To avoid this, make sure you have a clear understanding of what you need to do, and hold yourself accountable for making progress. Stay focused, stay motivated, and keep pushing yourself forward.
How do we overcome failure?
Hold Yourself Accountable:
One of the best ways to overcome failure is to hold yourself accountable. This means being honest with yourself about your progress, and taking action to make improvements when necessary. Seek out support from friends, family, or a coach, and keep pushing yourself forward.
Strength in Numbers:
Another way to overcome failure is to find strength in numbers. Surround yourself with positive, supportive people, and seek out help when you need it. Whether it’s a coach, a mentor, or a supportive friend, having someone to help you stay motivated and focused can make a big difference.
Fortify your mind:
Your mind is your greatest asset, so make sure you take care of it. Take breaks when you need them, seek out positive experiences and information, and avoid negativity as much as possible. By fortifying your mind, you’ll be better equipped to overcome any challenges that come your way.
Make a plan and work the plan:
Finally, make a plan and work the plan. Don’t just sit back and hope for the best. Take action, make progress, and keep pushing yourself forward. With time and effort, you’ll be able to achieve your goals and overcome any challenges that come your way. In conclusion, if you’re struggling to achieve your goals, it’s important to understand the reasons behind your failures. By taking a proactive approach and addressing the issues of poor planning, poor thinking, poor execution, and poor follow through, you can turn things around and start achieving your goals. Remember to hold yourself accountable, find strength in numbers, fortify your mind, and make a plan and work the plan. By doing these things, you’ll be well on your way to overcoming failure and achieving success.
You tell yourself stories all the time. Those stories affect the way you react to the world around you. They affect the way you treat people. Today’s guest is going to help you reframe those stories by looking at the truth.

J. Chris Templeton is the founder of Oh The Stories We Tell, a model for self-awareness and self-development with three simple questions and a resulting model. With his model, Chris is passionate about helping people achieve greater self-awareness, self-development, and self-leadership.
Chris was inspired to develop the model in 2003 by Eckhart Tolle’s The Power of Now and Jill Bolte-Taylor’s TED Talk “My Stroke of Insight.” Since then, he has been working to develop the model into a book, illustrated piece, and video.
Chris has spent most of his career as an entrepreneur in online marketing, but he has also spent several years at a Fortune 500 financial services company. He has been happily married to his wife of 27 years, and the couple has raised three children into adulthood.
Chris’s goal with his podcast is to provide people with a tool to help them enhance and clarify what is most important to them in their family, friends, work, and most importantly themselves. It is not a therapy or a belief system, but a simple and common-sense tool that is incredibly powerful.
Fatherhood isn’t for the faint of heart. So many dads struggle to connect with their kids in a meaningful way, and while I think our generation is striving to do better than the generation before us, there’s always room for improvement.
Be Present and involved
Your family needs you more than they need your paycheck. I’m not saying you shouldn’t work to provide, I’m saying – you should make sure that you are present. It’s better to have a little less than it is to have a lot of stuff, and no time with them.
And don’t just be present, but be involved. Change diapers, help with feeding, read to them, tuck them in. As they get older, play with them, teach them, work with them, and make sure that you’re not a disconnected dad out in the garage trying to hide from them.
Have Fun
Your home should be filled with laughter and fun. Even teenagers need to play. Even adult children need to play! So play, laugh, and go on adventures often!
Be Strict
It almost sounds counter to everything we see in today’s culture that being a strict parent with clear rules and consequences is actually a good thing. But i firmly believe it’s true. Establish your code of ethics and rules in your home. Establish clear discipline and consequences for breaking that code. Enforce firmly, but with mercy and patience.
Be loving
Hug and kiss your kids. Praise your kids. Tell them you love them everyday. Make “I Love you” the most commonly spoken words under your roof.
Speak more praise than criticism
This doesn’t mean you can’t correct – but it does mean, you need to praise them for the good things they do as often as you can. Even when offering correction – find something to praise them for.

I’ve seen in my own life that I can’t ever really hide anything. If I have a truth that I want to hide behind deception – it will always come out.
Men, this matters. And we need to have this hard conversation today.
Cosmic Laws
Whether you believe in God, or just the random spinning of the universe, we have to believe in certain cosmic laws. I would call them divine laws – you may call them something else. We may even disagree on what some of them are – but there are many that we find common ground on.
Sowing and Reaping
The principle of sowing and reaping is one of those cosmic laws. What you plant, you will pick. If you plant tomato plants, you will not pick zucchini – you will pick tomatoes.
If I treat people poorly, it will come back to me. If I lie, it will eventually be exposed.
When we try to bury certain behaviors or attitudes, that is honestly like burying a seed in the ground. It will grow and eventually – we’ll harvest it.
Truth Always Come Out
Let’s not be so short sighted to think that just because we did not get caught NOW, that we’re going to get away scott-free. Eventually, the truth always comes out.
Honest is truly the best policy
I would rather someone be honest with me up front – then for me to trust them, only to find out that they lied.
Better to come clean than to be stripped bare
Given the choice between exposing my mistakes, and being exposed by someone else – I can assure you that coming forward and telling the truth is a much better feeling than having someone else tell all of your dirty laundry for you.

Balancing Family and Friendship
Lastly, Simon addresses the issue of balancing time with friends and family, particularly when one’s spouse may not be on board with spending time with friends. He suggests having open and honest conversations with one’s spouse about what fuels and makes one feel alive, and finding ways to set each other free to be the best versions of themselves.
Conclusion

Who is Morgan Elliott?
Meet Morgan Elliott, the talented director behind the hit documentary film “Potty Town.” Not only did this film reach the top 15 on the iTunes/Apple chart for documentaries in the U.S., but it is now available for streaming on Amazon Prime. In addition to his work on “Potty Town,” Morgan has a wealth of experience in the film industry as a writer, editor, and cinematographer. He has also served as the DoP on several award-winning short films.
“Potty Town” tells the story of one man’s humorous and sometimes tumultuous journey as he battles small town government officials to preserve his artistic toilet creations and defend his first amendment rights. This quirky film is a must-see for anyone interested in a unique blend of comedy and social commentary.
Morgan Elliott Background
Morgan Elliott is a talented young filmmaker who has always had a passion for storytelling. He grew up in Canton, New York, and after studying film in college, he decided to pursue a career in the industry. He has worked on a variety of projects in the past, but “Potty Town” marks his first time in the director’s chair. He’s excited to share his vision with audiences everywhere, and we can’t wait to see what he has in store for us.
About Potty Town
“Potty Town: Where Protest Meets Porcelain” is a new documentary that tells the story of Frederick J. “Hank” Robar Sr., and his 25-year-long dispute with the Northern New York town of Potsdam. The film recounts how Robar’s first toilet garden was sown when he reportedly asked the town for a zoning change at one of his properties on Market Street. The request was denied due to traffic concerns, but the town approved a Dunkin’ Donuts franchise to open just three blocks away. This led to the start of a porcelain protest that has now grown across six different properties, with the town making several attempts to uproot the flower-filled potties.
The documentary explores the motivations behind Robar’s decision to create the toilet gardens, and how they’ve evolved over time. Morgan Elliot’s film also delves into the impact of the gardens on the local community and the relationship between the town and Robar. This film is a true story of protest and resilience that will have audiences captivated.
